Are you an expert on oil policy?

Neither am I.

Fortunately, you don’t have to be an expert to “get” this campaign. Quite the opposite. To “sign on” you only need to sense that the oil path we’re on is a dead-end.

Do you believe that the oil will run out? Do you believe that this might happen sooner rather than later?

Are you willing to make a small, medium, large or extra larger effort to share your belief with others that Help?

I recommend that we repeat this simple phrase “there is no future in oil” over and over because I’m not convinced that enough people have come to that conclusion and I want to give them a nudge in that direction.

If you are already convinced, are you wiling to do something to move this campaign along? If you are, try this:

Copy this sentence in you Facebook status:

There is no future in oil. I you believe this to be true “like” this comment and check out the link below.”

Then copy and attach this link to the message:

The link points to an entry on this blog about the campaign.

Let’s see if we can boost the number of “likes” on the “There is No Future in Oil” Facebook page.

Thanks for your help!

I acknowledge the power of the few words. But, I’m not sure of what is meant by these few words… a proclamation, a prediction, a suggestion to action…? It appears from a gentle person, a gentle reaction, if this is about the BP Oil Spill.

The few words There’s No Future in Oil, is vague for me who want’s to understand the connections I have to everything on this earth (at least). Understanding my connections will teach me how to live, no? And my questions are everyone’s questions, aren’t they?

I have questions around how humanity can live together with full knowledge of responsibility to the earth and all its creatures; Questions around how we live together with the consequences of greed and desire and disconnection from things outside myself; Questions around what does it look like and how much suffering will be in having arrived at the actual state of having not sustained our earth?

Will we have polluted water… caustic air… fouled soil… little choice of food… new diseases… mutations and deformities… mental suffering… lowered value of human life to match our current low value for plant and animal and natural life?

Of course, living the scenario will teach absolutely through horrific suffering. Maybe its for the best to end our historically hollow, asleep and painful existence and just get it over with, no? And the survivors will have another opportunity for riches and wonder that we have squandered throughout ages. And, so the epic age we live in now with its superficiality, seems to be exactly what humanity needs to take steps toward a journey inward… and the light.

I’m very excited for this opportunity and wish us fast and beautiful learning.

      Dear Dyck,
If this simple phrase evokes this level of thoughtful response in even just a few of those who see it, I will consider it a huge success. I think part of the intent of the campaign is to pose a very elemental thought that would necessarily require new thoughts, new ideas, new actions. And it won’t be just one response that is required. It will be many, many, many over a long period of time. We’re talking about a huge change in our way of being here…Thanks for taking the time to provide the thoughtful reply that I so appreciate from you!
